ABOUT APRYL
Apryl Pooley is a scientist, author, artist, advocate, and aspiring yogi. She holds a PhD in neuroscience and researches the neurobiology of trauma. Dr. Pooley is the Director of Training and Technical Assistance for the Michigan Victim Advocacy Network (MiVAN).
Apryl serves on the Board of Directors of the Firecracker Foundation, a nonprofit that honors the bravery of children who have survived sexual trauma by building a community invested in their healing.
She lives and creates art much the same way as she does work and science: by smashing, throwing, splashing, and generally making a mess.
